These terms are an agreement between you and Darke Studios LLC (“we”, “us”), which runs Sori at soriboard.com. By creating an account or using Sori, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Sori. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
- Give us accurate details, and keep your email address current so we can reach you.
- Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us straight away at hello@soriboard.com if you think someone else has used it.
- An account is for one person. If you’re signing up for a business, you confirm you can agree for it.
Plans and payment
Free includes up to 3 boards and sharing boards for others to view. Premium includes unlimited boards and up to 2 editors per board. Current prices are on the plans page.
- Premium is billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renews automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from Account. You keep Premium until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and aren’t charged again.
- Payments aren’t refunded for partly used periods, except where the law says otherwise.
- We may change prices. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you, and it applies from your next renewal.
- If you go back to Free with more than 3 boards, you keep them all and can still open and share them; you just can’t make new ones until you’re under the limit.
Your boards are yours
You own what you put on Sori. To run the service we need your permission to store it, copy it, make covers and previews of it, and show it to the people you share it with. You give us that permission for as long as the content is on Sori, and only for running and improving Sori — not to use your work for anything else.
You’re responsible for having the right to everything you upload or link to, including images, music and video. A share link shows a copy of your board to anyone who has the link, so think before you share one, and turn it off when you’re done.
Using Sori fairly
Please don’t use Sori to:
- break the law, or upload anything you don’t have the right to share;
- harass, threaten or harm anyone, or share content that sexualises minors;
- spread malware, or try to get into accounts, boards or systems that aren’t yours;
- overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or get round plan limits;
- resell Sori, or pass it off as your own.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we’ll tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Sori infringes your copyright, write to hello@soriboard.com with the work, where it appears on Sori, your contact details, and a statement that you’re the owner or allowed to act for them. We’ll look into it and remove it if it infringes.
Ending your account
You can stop using Sori at any time, and ask us at hello@soriboard.com to delete your account and boards. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. If we ever shut Sori down, we’ll give account holders at least 30 days’ notice so you can save your work, and refund any Premium time you’ve paid for and not used.
Changes to Sori and these terms
Sori is new and will change: features may be added, changed or removed. If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top, and email account holders about anything significant before it takes effect. Using Sori after that means you accept the new terms.
No warranty
We work hard to keep Sori running and your boards safe, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. We can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, so keep your own copies of anything you can’t afford to lose.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you put on Sori or your breach of these terms, you’ll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
The legal part
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and disputes will be handled by its courts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them locally. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term straight away doesn’t mean we’ve given it up.
