Sori is a sonic moodboard run by Darke Studios LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use soriboard.com, why, who helps us handle it, and how to have it removed. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@soriboard.com.
If you join the waiting list
Before Sori opens, the homepage asks for your email address. We keep that address and the date you left it. We use it for one thing: to tell you when Sori opens, and occasionally what’s coming. We don’t share it with anyone else or use it for advertising.
To be taken off the list, reply to any email from us or write to hello@soriboard.com. We also clear the list once it has served its purpose after launch.
If you create an account
- Who you are: your first and last name, email address and username.
- Your password, stored only as a salted one-way hash. We can’t read it, and nobody at Sori can tell you what it is.
- Your email choice: whether you agreed to hear about new features. You can change your mind at any time.
- Your boards: everything you put on them — images, audio, video, text, links and their layout — plus a small cover picture we make of each board for your board list.
- Who you work with: the people you add to a board, and the role each one has.
- Your plan: if you pay for Premium, your plan, billing period and subscription status.
We use this to run Sori: to sign you in, save and show your boards, let the people you choose see or edit them, send the emails the service needs (confirming your address, resetting a password), and keep the service secure. We send feature news only if you said yes.
Boards you share
When you share a board by link, anyone who has the link can see a copy of that board without signing in. The copy is taken when you share it and doesn’t change until you share again. You can turn a link off at any time, after which it stops working. People you add to a board by name can see it, and editors can change it.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers. Stripe tells us whether a payment went through and which plan you’re on. Stripe’s own use of your information is covered by its privacy policy.
Cookies and your browser
We set one cookie, sori_session, which keeps you signed in. It lasts up to 30 days, can’t be read by scripts on the page, and is removed when you sign out. We use no advertising or analytics cookies, and we don’t track you across other sites.
The editor may keep a working copy of a board in your browser’s storage so nothing is lost if a save is interrupted. It stays on your device.
Boards can include players from Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube and Bandcamp. When one of those players loads or plays, that service may set its own cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy.
Who helps us run Sori
We use these services to host and operate Sori. They handle your information on our behalf:
- Amazon Web Services — runs our server, stores the files on your boards, delivers them, and sends our emails.
- MongoDB Atlas — our database: accounts, boards and the waiting list.
- Vercel — serves the website itself.
- Cloudflare — our domain, and forwarding mail sent to our address.
- Stripe — payments, as above.
Like most websites, these providers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and browser type) to keep the service running and secure. Our servers are in the United States, so your information is stored and processed there.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of people using Sori, or as part of a sale or merger of the service — in which case this policy would continue to apply to it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and boards for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your boards, including their files and any share links, from our live systems within 30 days. Copies in backups age out on their own schedule. We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what we hold about you, or send you a copy of it;
- correct something that’s wrong;
- delete your account, your boards, or your waiting-list entry;
- stop sending you feature news.
Write to hello@soriboard.com from the address on your account. We’ll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live — for example the EU, the UK or California — you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. We’ll honour them.
You can change your password from Account, and turn a share link off from the board’s Share panel.
Children
Sori isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to hello@soriboard.com and we’ll delete it.
Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections, passwords are hashed, and access to our systems is limited to the people who run Sori. No service can promise perfect security, but if something goes wrong that affects your information, we’ll tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change matters, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
